Nutrition tracking

The nutrition tracker gives you a daily food log with macro totals, a searchable food library, and support for coach-assigned meal plans. It’s designed for consistent daily use — quick to log, easy to review.

The food log

Open Nutritionto see today’s log. It’s divided into meal slots: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks (or whatever structure your coach has set up if you’re on an assigned plan). At the top you’ll see your macro progress for the day — calories, protein, carbs, and fat as a ring or bar against your targets.

Swipe between days using the date selector at the top to review past days or pre-log tomorrow’s meals.

Logging food

Tap + Add food in any meal slot. Search the food library by name (over 1 million foods in the bundled database, searchable offline). Tap a result to see its nutrition data, adjust the serving size, and add it to the meal.

Foods you log frequently rise to the top of search results over time. Teshape doesn’t have barcode scanning yet — search by name instead.

To create a custom food that’s not in the library, tap Create food at the bottom of any search result list and enter the nutrition info manually. Custom foods are saved to your account and show up in your search results going forward.

Macro totals

The daily summary at the top of the log shows your totals for:

  • Calories — total kcal from all logged food
  • Protein — grams of protein
  • Carbohydrates — grams of total carbs
  • Fat — grams of total fat

Each macro shows as a progress bar against your target. Tap the bar to see the exact number and the percentage of target. Going over a target turns the bar red; hitting it exactly or close turns it green.

Meal templates

If you eat the same meals often (most people do), save them as templates. Log the meal once, then tap Save as template. The next time you want to log the same meal, tap Add from template in the meal slot and select it — all the foods are added in one tap.

Templates are stored in your account. You can edit or delete them fromNutrition → My templates.

Coach-assigned nutrition plan

If your coach assigns a nutrition plan, it appears automatically in your food log. Prescribed meals for each day show up as pre-filled slots with your coach’s recommended foods and quantities. You can log them as-is or adjust serving sizes if reality differs from the plan.

The macro targets in the top summary are automatically set to match the plan. Your coach can see whether you’re hitting the targets from your client profile — no separate reporting required.

Prescribed and free-logged meals coexist. You can have a coach-assigned plan for your main meals and still log snacks or extra items as free-log entries. Both contribute to your daily macro totals.

Setting your own targets

If you don’t have a coach-assigned plan, set your own macro targets fromNutrition → Targets. Enter your daily calorie and macro goals. These become the benchmarks for the progress bars in the log.

The Macro calculatoron the Teshape site can help you estimate sensible starting targets based on your goal, weight, and activity level if you’re not sure where to begin.
