Find a coach
You don’t need a coach to use Teshape — the app is a complete personal fitness tracker on its own. But if you want structured programming and accountability, here’s how to find the right coach and connect.
The coach directory
Go to teshape.com/find-a-coach or open Explore inside the app to browse verified coaches. Each card shows a headshot, name, location, specialties, and average rating.
The directory only shows coaches who have passed the Teshape verification step (ID + certification) and have their profile set to Public. Coaches at capacity or taking a break can hide themselves from search without deleting their profile.
Filtering
Use the filter bar to narrow by:
- Specialty — powerlifting, hypertrophy, weight loss, running, yoga, and more
- Language — coaches who coach in the language you’re most comfortable in
- Location — useful for in-person or hybrid coaching
Filters combine additively — a specialty filter plus a language filter shows coaches who match both. Clear a filter to widen the results.
Reading a coach profile
Tap a coach card to open their full profile. It shows their bio, specialties, certifications, languages, location, and reviews from current and past trainees.
A green verified badge means their identity and at least one certification have been confirmed by Teshape. It doesn’t verify their specific claims in the bio — use the reviews section for social proof.
Some coaches post a video intro on their profile. If there’s a play button in the header, tap it — a 60-second clip can tell you more about a coach’s style than a paragraph of text.
Sending a connection request
Tap Send connection requeston a coach’s profile. If you’re not logged in, you’ll be prompted to sign up or log in first — the request is held and submitted automatically once you’re authenticated.
The coach will see your request in their Applications queue. They can view your trainee profile, send you a message, and accept or decline. Most coaches respond within a day or two.
Alternatively, if a coach sends you a direct invite link, just tap it. Teshape opens the connection screen with their card pre-loaded — no search needed.
One active coach at a time
Teshape supports one active coach per trainee account. If you’re already connected to a coach and you send a request to a second one, you’ll be asked to confirm that you want to end the current coaching relationship first.
Disconnecting from a coach doesn’t delete your workout history, measurements, or nutrition logs. Everything you’ve logged stays in your account. The coach loses access to your data once the connection ends.
Training without a coach
You don’t need to find a coach to use Teshape. Log your own workouts, track your measurements, and follow your own nutrition targets independently. The app never blocks features behind “connect to a coach first” — that choice is yours.
When you’re training without a coach and you hit a plateau or want more structure, subtle prompts in the Today tab point toward Find a coach — but only where they make sense, not as blockers.
