Subscription & billing

A Teshape subscription is what coaches pay to use the platform. Trainees are always free. The billing rails differ depending on where you subscribed — web or mobile.

Your Teshape subscription

Your subscription tier determines your maximum active client count and your monthly AI generation allowance. All core tools — workout builder, nutrition, messaging, analytics, documents — are available at every tier including Free.

You can view your current tier, billing cycle, next renewal date, and usage at any time from Settings → Subscription on web or mobile.

Billing on web

Web subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. This means local taxes (EU VAT, etc.) are handled automatically — you don’t need to worry about collecting or reporting them.

You’ll receive a receipt email after each successful charge with a link to download your invoice. The same link lets you update your payment card, view your billing history, and manage the subscription.

Billing on mobile

Subscriptions started inside the iOS or Android app are billed through Apple IAPor Google Play Billing respectively. Apple and Google handle the charge, the receipt, and the tax calculation.

To manage a mobile subscription — update payment method, cancel, or view history — go to your device’s native subscription settings:

  • iOS: Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play app → Subscriptions

Teshape support can’t process refunds for mobile purchases — Apple and Google handle those directly.

Web and mobile subscriptions are unified.Regardless of which rail you subscribed on, your tier shows the same everywhere. The Teshape app reads one subscription record — it doesn’t matter whether you paid through the browser or the App Store.

Upgrading or downgrading

You can change tiers at any time from Settings → Subscription → Change plan.

  • UpgradeTakes effect immediately. You’re charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period, and your new client limit is live right away.
  • DowngradeScheduled for the end of your current billing period. Your current tier stays active until then. If you have more active clients than the lower tier allows, you’ll be asked to offboard some before the downgrade completes.

Cancelling

Cancelling downscales you to Free at the end of your paid period. Your data, library, and client history are preserved. You won’t be able to add new clients past the Free limit (2) until you resubscribe, but existing relationships and history are intact.

Trainee payments are off-platform

Teshape does not process payments from trainees to coaches. There is no Stripe Connect, no escrow, and no transaction fee on coach earnings. The platform subscription you pay covers your use of the coaching tools — what you charge your clients, and how they pay you, is entirely between you and them.

To manage the off-platform arrangement inside the app, use Offers — a structured proposal flow where you describe your service and price, the trainee accepts, and they upload proof of payment (bank transfer, Wise, whatever you use) for you to confirm. This keeps the transaction record inside the coaching relationship without Teshape touching the money.
