A plain-language summary of what Teshape stores, who can see it, how long it’s kept, and how to get it out. The full legal privacy policy is linked at the bottom.
What we collect
Teshape collects the minimum data needed to run the service. What that includes:
- Email address
- Hashed password (if email/password signup)
- Name and display name
- Country/region (for tax-related features)
- Workout sessions: exercises, sets, reps, weight, RPE, timestamps
- Training plans and workout library you build or are assigned
- Personal records and session history
- Food log entries: food items, portions, dates
- Nutrition plans and meal templates
- Daily macro totals
- Weight, body fat %, circumference measurements
- Progress photos (if you upload them)
- Messages between you and your coach (or trainees)
- Message timestamps and read receipts
- Bio, headshot, specialties, certifications
- Verification documents (processed and then discarded after verification — not stored long-term)
- Reviews received from trainees
- App events for product analytics (session starts, feature usage)
- Device type and OS version for crash reporting
- No third-party ad trackers on the app or marketing site
Who can see your data
Coach access (trainees)
While you’re connected to a coach, they can see:
- Your full workout session history
- Your body measurements and progress photos
- Your nutrition logs and macro adherence
- Your check-in responses
When you disconnect from a coach, their access is revoked immediately. They cannot see historical data after disconnection.
Public profile (coaches)
Your coach profile at teshape.com/c/your-name is publicly accessible and indexed by search engines. Public fields are: headshot, display name, bio, specialties, certifications, location, languages, and reviews. Your email, training data, and client information are never public.
Setting your profile to Private removes it from the Find a coach directory, but the direct URL still resolves (returns a soft-empty state) so existing share links don’t 404.
How long data is kept
Data is kept as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days. Aggregate analytics (no personal identifiers) may be retained for trend analysis.
Backup snapshots for disaster recovery are retained for up to 90 days after account deletion, then purged.
Exporting your data
You can request a full export of your data at any time fromSettings → Privacy → Export my data. The export is packaged as a JSON archive and emailed to your account address. It includes:
- Full workout history (all sessions, sets, PRs)
- Nutrition log history
- Body measurements
- Check-in responses
- Account metadata
The export is usually ready within a few minutes. For large accounts with years of data, it may take up to an hour.
Deleting your account
To delete your account, go toSettings → Privacy → Delete account. You’ll be asked to confirm with your password. Deletion is irreversible — export your data first if you want to keep a record.
Coaches with active clients will be prompted to notify them before deleting. Active subscriptions are cancelled automatically when you delete — no separate cancellation step required.
If you can’t access your account, email support@teshape.comwith a deletion request and we’ll handle it manually after identity verification.
