Teshape

Public profile SEO

Your coach profile at teshape.com/c/your-name is publicly indexed and share-able. This page explains how to optimise it for discovery — both inside the app and on the open web.

How coaches get discovered

There are two routes: the Find a coach directory inside the Teshape app (and marketing site), and organic web search from Google or other engines. Both are driven by what you put in your profile — the fields are the same, but they feed different algorithms.

Search filters

In Find a coach, trainees filter by specialty, language, and location. These map directly to the Specialties, Languages, and Location fields in your profile. If your specialty tags don’t match what you actually do, you’ll appear in irrelevant searches and miss relevant ones.

The directory also ranks profiles by completeness and recency. A fresh, fully filled-out profile will rank above a sparse one, all else being equal.

Your public profile page is server-rendered with full Open Graph and meta tags. Google can index it. The page title is your display name + “— Teshape Coach”. The meta description comes from your bio field. Specialties appear on the page as visible text.

If you already get traffic from a personal website or social media, you can link directly to your Teshape profile from those surfaces. The profile page is designed to convert cold visitors — the “Send connection request” CTA is prominent and accessible without an account.

Your username

Your username is the slug in your share link. It’s permanent in the sense that changing it breaks all existing links — there is no redirect table. Choose something that matches how people know you: typically your name or your brand name.

# Username in the URL:
https://teshape.com/c/lina-okonkwo

# Short enough to fit in a bio or email signature.

Usernames are unique across the platform. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only — no spaces or special characters. You can set or change yours from Settings → Profile → Username.

Change your username carefully.Anyone who has your old link bookmarked or shared it with others will land on a “coach not found” page after the change. Think of it like changing a domain name — your link is your brand.

When someone shares your profile link in WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, X, or LinkedIn, the platform generates a preview card using your Open Graph tags. The preview shows:

  • Your headshot as the preview image
  • Your display name + “— Teshape Coach” as the title
  • Your bio as the description

This means the headshot and bio are doing double duty — they’re not just for your profile page, they’re the first impression in every share preview. A blank bio or missing headshot results in a bare link with no preview card.

Profile completion checklist

Run through this before sharing your profile anywhere:

  • Headshot uploaded (square, no text overlay)
  • Display name matches how you introduce yourself professionally
  • Username set and you're happy keeping it
  • Bio written in two to three sentences — who you coach, what you don't
  • At least three specialty tags selected
  • At least one certification added
  • Location and language(s) set
  • Profile visibility set to Public
  • Verification submitted and approved
